About you

We’re looking for committed volunteers to get involved with a range of activities that will enrich the lives of residents living in our Aged Care Residential facilities by providing valuable support and social interaction. You may also have a hobby, skill, or interest you wish to share.

We encourage you to reach out and talk to us about how you can support this invaluable program.

We’re hoping to find volunteers to help with:

  • Social companion with residents (1:1 or group companionship)
  • Walking and exercise groups (Walk with residents out in the garden)
  • Bus driving and outings (only requires a ‘C’ class licence)
  • Reading and board games
  • Pet visits (your pet must be vaccinated, calm and gentle-natured, clean, and up to date with vaccinations and treatment of worms and fleas. You must also have Pet insurance)
  • Movie club (help choose and screen residents’ favourite movies on the weekends)
  • Music connection (sharing music and memories is a powerful thing, you will create a meaningful playlist specifically suited to our residents)
  • Gardening (Love to potter in the garden, water plants, have a cuppa and a chat? Low impact gardening)
  • Men’s club (offer support and companionship to our male residents by engaging in group discussion, sharing their skills or hobbies, or helping to facilitate new ideas)
  • Activity Assistant (assist with fun activities such as Bingo, quizzes, sing-along, coffee club, and more)
  • Kiosk helper (make coffee and conversation the highlight of their day)
  • Arts and crafts (Assist with sewing, scrapbooking, card making, knitting, painting, and more)

Requirements

  • Ability to pass a National Police Check
  • Willingness to obtain or provide proof of Up-to-date Influenza & Covid-19 Vaccinations
