The Community Development Coordinator is part of the wider Community Services Team, focusing on creating and implementing community strengthening programs, utilising trauma-informed, strengths-based, and harm minimisation approaches to design initiatives. The Coordinator collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver and implement community-based programs and promote opportunities to be a part of advocacy.
The Community Development Coordinator will enable and support the work of the BaptistCare HopeStreet Team and the Together in 2770 Collective to achieve our goal for Mount Druitt: All children start school well in Mount Druitt.
The Community Development Coordinator listens deeply to community to gain an understanding of the local priorities, aspirations and issues. In response, this role focuses on building the capacity and leadership of the local community aligning with what they’ve heard and supports community-led advocacy. They also design and deliver suburb level engagement activities and events with the purpose of building the BaptistCare HopeStreet's relationships and trust within local communities.
