Council’s Community Connections Unit is seeking a Coordinator to join their team to support community strengthening through age friendly work, community grants and volunteer support.

As the Community Connections Coordinator you will bring energy, talent and vision and experience to the team. You will share our values of respect, integrity, responsibility, initiative and inclusion, and have a passion for helping a community of over 130,000 residents to live happier, healthier and more connected lives, all while growing your skills and advancing your career.

You will oversee the day to day support, leadership and supervision of:

  • Regional Assessment Service
  • Service Access/ navigation
  • Age-Friendly Social Planning and Community Development
  • Community Grants and Banyule Community Fund
  • Volunteer Support and Development

You will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and or experience and or significant industry experience
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities combined with experience in managing staff and change processes
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Ability to develop and coordinate strategic planning and policy frameworks
  • A commitment to the delivery of high-quality services
  • Experience managing Aged Friendly policy, Regional Assessment Services (RAS), community grants and volunteer support and development
  • Evidence of implementing major change projects
  • Financial management, and experience with funding agreements and contract management
