About the Aiming High VCE Support Program:

The Aiming High VCE Support Program is now in its seventh year of operation and is a flagship program for Banksia Gardens Community Services, an innovative community organisation in Broadmeadows. Working with some of the most disadvantaged communities in Melbourne, the program works in Broadmeadows and Craigieburn to support aspirational students to achieve their academic goals and move into further education and training. Students are recruited from a range of local secondary schools, with a focus on those from public schools.

In addition to the ability to instruct at VCE-level, the role requires a candidate who values relationships and is skilled at building community. Each year, we seek to create a strong community of learners who move through the challenges of VCE together. Aiming High is a not a regular teaching role: it is often about inspiring young people and developing students' capacities outside of specific VCE subjects, helping them to develop more self-efficacy, and facilitating exploration and access to further study and career options.
