In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and reporting financial crime with a strong focus on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF). You will lead the design and implementation of an end-to-end value chain that incorporates third-party services, financial crime technology platforms, and tailored detection rules, while ensuring the organisation remains responsive to regulatory changes and fully compliant with AML/CTF obligations.

What you will be doing
- Monitor the financial crime environment to assess typology and monitoring coverage
- Develop systems and rule sets to create appropriate internal alerts that support compliance with AML/CFT compliance obligations
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimise detection and alerts balancing compliance obligations with efficiency
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify the emerging and current threats in the financial crime environment
- Undertake reviews to ensure appropriate coverage of crime typologies/indicators and identify emerging typologies/indicators
- Review financial crime monitoring coverage across AML and sanctions and provide recommendations to improve coverage
- Monitor financial crime strategies performance and optimise appropriately
- Provide expertise in internal and external industry forums to share key learnings and industry insights
- Support monthly Board & Executive reporting by including statistical dashboards to demonstrate monitoring performance, trends and insights in the AML/KYC environment.
What you will bring
- Strong experience in financial crime analytics and banking
- Expertise in Fraud and AML/CTF analytics, including scenario and rule development
- Strong data analysis skills with advanced Excel and AI/ML knowledge
- Clear communicator across all levels, including senior leaders and regulators
- Proven relationship builder with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborative, influential, and self-motivated with a curious mindset
- Solid understanding of financial crime legislation and compliance
- Relevant tertiary qualification
