We currently have a full time, permanent opportunity for a Corporate Affairs Manager to join our Corporate Affairs team. The role supports the bank to manage its brand and reputational opportunities and risks. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, the role is responsible for implementing the bank’s corporate affairs plan, supporting issues and crisis management activity, the production of key corporate communications material, and delivering advocacy activity in line with the bank’s purpose and values.

What you will be doing

  • Support the Head of Corporate Affairs to develop and implement the annual Corporate Affairs Plan
  • Provide advice to the Head of Corporate Affairs and other senior managers on matters relating to brand reputation, stakeholder engagement, advocacy, issues management and media relations
  • Develop advocacy strategies and plans to strengthen the bank’s brand voice and thought leadership on its impact priorities
  • Lead the development, implementation and review of public relations plans including liaison with journalists, community partners, customers and internal stakeholders to generate proactive media coverage
  • Act as the key media contact and liaise internally across the bank to provide timely and appropriate responses to media enquiries
  • Provide communications advice and support to the Managing Director and other members of the Executive Team as required
  • Support the Head of Corporate Affairs in crisis communications planning and lead implementation during crisis/BCP events
  • Lead brand partnership program with purpose and values aligned organisations including the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of brand partnerships
  • Provide communications advice to the business on current and emerging issues
  • Lead the narrative development, copywriting and design of the bank’s annual Impact Report
  • Monitor the media and social media for issues relevant to the bank

What you will bring

  • At least six years corporate experience in corporate affairs advisory, corporate communications, internal communications, stakeholder relations, or relevant field
  • Highly developed communications planning, writing and execution skills
  • Experienced in issues management practice in a corporate reputation context
  • Demonstrated interest in public policy, and social and environmental issues in a business context
  • Highly developed influencing and relationship management skills
  • Experience in developing and maintaining stakeholder networks
  • Highly developed research and problem solving skills
  • Experience in developing communications and advocacy strategies
  • Experience leading high performing teams, and coaching and developing staff
  • Experience in developing communications plans and strategies for priority business projects
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage simultaneous projects
