Communications and Administration Coordinator in a Youth Housing Service delivering:
- Coordinate BABI communication channels - BABI communication channels are contemporary, visible, well targeted, and effectively coordinated, and communications into BABI via social media are responded to promptly and appropriately.
- Provide support to the CEO, including a focus on partnership relationships - Support is provided to the CEO, including to identify, organise and execute partnership and other reputational development activities. Relationships are developed to foster opportunities for collaboration that strengthen BABI’s service offering to clients and the community, service visibility, and funding.
- Manage and develop the BABI administration function - High-level administrative systems are implemented, and support is provided accurately and within specified timeframes to assist with smooth day-to-day operations of the organisation. All external and internal stakeholders are adequately supported and benefit from a positive reception experience.
- Financial responsibilities - Finances are maintained through effective data entry management of payment entries and transfers, payroll support, receipts and reconciliations.

This position is on a full-time basis until Friday 25th June 2026, for 38 hours per week, classified at Level 3.4 (Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010) and will continue dependent on BABI funding.

Key Selection Criteria (KSC)
Demonstrated competency in the following areas is required:
- KSC1: Good communication skills including communicating with at-risk disadvantaged and vulnerable young people and their families together with an understanding and appreciation of the challenges/issues the client group face.
- KSC2: A demonstrated ability to support networks and partnerships and to work effectively with a range of stakeholders (i.e. government departments, other organisations) to achieve positive outcomes.
- KS3: Understanding of communication channels regularly used in the not-for-profit sector, best practice not-for-profit communication practices, and demonstrated or transferable skills in developing and disseminating visible, targeted and engaging communications content.
- KSC4: Demonstrated skills in and aptitude for administration and/or operations duties. This could include possession of relevant qualifications or experience in administrative operations work and routine finance tasks.
- KSC5: Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written), the ability to remain professional in challenging situations, and the ability to solve problems and resolve issues that arise in service delivery.
- KSC6: Ability to take the initiative and follow through. This includes managing complex systems, noticing tasks to be undertaken, assistance that could be provided to staff and a willingness and ability to provide the assistance needed.
This Administration role has been recently reviewed to incorporate a range of different but related organisational functions.
