About the role

To build stable and sustainable funding, the AYCC is on the lookout for passionate and dedicated fundraisers!

Our callers build strong relationships with our supporters in order to bring them onboard our Champions of Change program, where they can contribute to funding AYCC's amazing campaigns and training through flexible and manageable recurring donations. This includes mostly afternoon and evening work, and would be perfectly suited to dedicated and passionate young people looking to get a head start in fundraising for climate justice.

We are looking for people with a passion for climate justice who are confident and engaging communicators, who demonstrate attention to detail in their work and who understand the importance of securing donations for a not-for-profit organisation. In addition to the above, applicants should be self-directed and able to take initiative to improve and problem solve, as well as being willing and comfortable to discuss donations with supporters. Previous fundraising experience and/or experience volunteering within other organisations would be highly regarded, but is not essential.

About AYCC

The AYCC is a non-profit, non-partisan organisation building a movement of young people leading solutions to the climate crisis. We are Australia’s largest youth-led organisation and one of the most effective organisations dedicated to tackling climate change, with hundreds volunteers nationally and more than 200,000 supporters. Our major program areas are:

  • Campaigns to solve the climate crisis: We run bold campaigns to make sure Australia moves from fossil fuels to renewable energy as quickly as possible. We are currently focussed on holding back fossil fuel expansion through campaigns to stop the funding, social licence, and political support for climate-wrecking gas projects.
  • Training & movement building: AYCC’s power comes from community organising and a network of grassroots action groups across the continent. Our movement is radically inclusive, equitable and accessible, and prides itself on its diversity and scale. We empower volunteers to take on meaningful leadership and responsibility while supporting each other to learn and grow. Each year hundreds of young people participate in our online, in-school and in-person training programs to build their skills and confidence to take action on climate change.

Your key responsibilities

  1. Call AYCC’s supporters, explain our importance and ask for regular donations
  2. Consistently meet minimum fundraising targets
  3. Accurately update and maintain AYCC’s database (NationBuilder)
  4. Stay up to date with AYCC campaigns and the climate movement
