We’re looking for a Speech Pathologist Mentor who can volunteer remotely (from home) for 3 months. Join the Australian Volunteers Program to contribute to sustainable development in the Pacific region.
Sigatoka Special school focuses on educating children with special needs who have various disabilities to be independent members of society. The School supports children with language based learning disabilities, speech impairment, autism, down syndrome, and specific seminary disabilities. Teachers provide students with innovative education and life skill programs to support them for a life outside school. The school currently runs a computer suite with Special Educational Programmes to further enhance their education needs. Life skills include basic sewing, cooking/bakery, gardening, art and craft. As school continues to grow, it provides ever unseeing challenges that need to be advanced so they can continue to provide the excellence in education and life skills to the children in the community. The school is seeking a speech pathologist with general methods for collaborating with teachers to improve communication skills in the classroom for children with speech and language disorders. This assignment will provide online support to teachers through trainings, discussion and networking on zoom platform.
