We’re looking for an Occupational Therapist who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country in South Africa for 12 months in total.
The Ann Harding Cheshire Home (AHCH) is based in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is a residential care facility for adults with a permanent physical disability, aiming to create a society where persons with disabilities have equal opportunities. Their mission is to assist people with disabilities regardless of their colour, race or creed, by providing the best conditions for their physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
A volunteer is needed to further develop the skills of caregivers, and provide knowledge and expertise in occupational therapy to the organisation overall. The volunteer will work closely with the caregivers to develop and deliver a seamless Occupational Therapy (OT) schedule for the residents endeavouring to improve the quality of service into the future.
The Australian Volunteers Program is an Australian government-funded initiative. We support partner organisations across the Pacific, Asia, and Africa to achieve locally led change.
Volunteers are supported throughout their volunteer journey, and we actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to volunteer and aim to make the program as accessible and inclusive as possible. Find out more.
