We’re looking for a Library Mentor who can volunteer in country for 12 months in Micronesia. Join the Australian Volunteers Program to contribute to sustainable development across Micronesia.
The Pohnpei Public Library is, and non-governmental organisation established to fulfil a need to provide the general public with library services within the community. The Pohnpei Public Library officially opened in February 1988 with an all-volunteer NGO and has since expanded to include full time staff, a children’s reading room and a computer lab.
Due to limited financial resources available, Pohnpei Public Library is now seeking a volunteer that can help expand the general knowledge of the current staff with expanding skills of current staff on computer skills for library technology, management, monitoring, and maintenance on the library electronic file system. the volunteer will be responsible for working in partnership with the Head Librarian on staff development trainings for the current staff members enhancing current library skills needed to support library patrons.

The monthly living allowance enables you to live a modest local lifestyle. Based on the cost of living in a particular country, it covers food, your daily commute, communication and other local costs.
