About the assignment

We’re looking for a Communication and Fundraising Mentor (PWC) who can volunteer remotely from home for 3 months. Join the Australian Volunteers Program to contribute to sustainable development across Tanzania.

This is a remote-based position and we are open to Australian-based applicants.

About the partner organisation

Pastoral Women’s Council (PWC) is a non-governmental, for impact, women led and focused organisation that supports and mobilises pastoral women and girls to achieve better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities. PWC interventions address the root causes of poverty, exclusion, and injustice by working towards women being empowered to engage in the development of their communities. As part of the Inclusive and Quality Education program, PWC also manages the community owned Emanyata Secondary School with the aim of enhancing access to quality education for pastoralist children particularly girls who are often vulnerable to gender based violence in the forms of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), early marriage and exclusion from education opportunities consequent of the deep-set traditional patriarchal norms of the pastoral community. 

about the position:

• You’ll be training and supporting local staff on fundraising methods and working with local staff to create and implement a strategic plan which will help Emanyata Secondary School apply for and secure funds to support girls' education.
• You’ll need to have or be working towards completing qualifications in business management, social sciences or international development.
• You’ll gain an incredible opportunity to gain new skills and to contribute to making sustainable change across Tanzania.

Additional Benefits

• Allowance figure of $79 (part-time) per month

Special Requirements

• The Partner Organisation’s preference for this role is part-time (less than 25h per week)
• Federal Police Check must be completed during application
