APAN is looking for a skilled campaigner and community organiser to mobilise the Australian community in support of the struggle for Palestinian justice and freedom. Concerted action by the international community is needed to stop the ongoing genocide in Gaza, and the intensified violence and dispossession taking place in the West Bank and Jerusalem. Australia must be part of that international effort.

The position works in a small highly skilled team to build, skill and resource a community network of activists that engage with their community, and their local, state and federal politicians on APAN’s campaigns including:

• Campaign for a permanent end to the genocide and unfettered access for aid and reconstruction in Gaza
• Campaign for accountability for Israel and an end to Australian government complicity in the genocide and occupation
• Boycott, Disinvestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign

We are looking for a person with skills including:

• Strong understanding of Palestine’s struggle for justice and freedom
• Experience and expertise in campaigning to bring about social and political change
• Experience and expertise in community organising/mobilising
• A good understanding of campaign and mobilisation strategies and tactics
• An understanding of how to engage, skill, resource and activate supporters
• Strategic thinking and an understanding of messaging best practice
• Strong cultural competency
