About the Role

The Service Desk Support Officer is a hands on user support role that sits within the ICT team. These roles are offered on a full-time temporary basis until 30 June 2024.

You will be required to use your prior experience to provide technical support to Australian Museum staff, research fellows and volunteers for desktop computing, applications, videoconference facilities and networks across the Australian Museum sites to support the needs of the business.

You will be paid a competitive annual salary $70,694 - $76,857, plus employer's contribution to superannuation (currently 11%) and annual leave loading.

About You

We are seeking two keen ICT professionals. You will have:

  • Demonstrated successful experience in a complex and diverse information technology environment. Previous experience within a Cultural Institute will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in the installation, maintenance and support of Personal Computer Operating Systems (i.e. Windows), Office Productivity Tools (i.e. Microsoft Office) and Network Operating System (i.e. Windows), at the server, workstation and end-user levels
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, verbal and written skills, and a demonstrated ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Essential requirements

  • A degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
