The Australian Copyright Council is an independent, not-for-profit, community legal service representing the peak bodies for professional artists and content creators working in Australia’s creative industries. We work to promote understanding of copyright law and its application, foster collaboration between content creators and users, and advocate for the protection of creator rights and interests in Australia.
We are looking for a Sydney-based lawyer (1 year + PAE) with a working knowledge of Australian copyright law to join the Council’s legal team in providing legal advice, delivering webinars and training, maintaining Council publications and assisting in the Council’s advocacy initiatives.
The role is full-time, but we welcome applications from more senior lawyers to work on a fractional basis.
You have at least 1 year’s post admission experience with an intellectual property focus, ideally in copyright with (or eligible for), a current NSW practising certificate.
You are a confident presenter, ready to deliver copyright law training to creators and users.
You enjoy writing and are a collaborative, hands-on team player, happy to work autonomously and flexibly in a small, pet friendly office with no time sheets!
Admission as an Australian legal practitioner.
We welcome First Nations candidates and other culturally and linguistically diverse applicants.
Please submit your application to the Chief Executive Officer via the "Apply Now" button.
