Awarded a contract to deliver foster care services in the Perth area, the Foundation collaborates closely with Karla Kuliny Aboriginal Corporation to provide trauma-transformative therapeutic services, making significant strides in improving care outcomes for children and young people.

About the Role:

As Program Manager of the Out of Home Care program, you will oversee all aspects, with a primary focus on ensuring the well-being and stability of children and young people in our care. Your comprehensive role encompasses program development, staff management, and the delivery of high-quality care, aligned with our commitment to nurturing a compassionate community of foster carers. You will work within our Therapeutic Services program to ensure children receive healing therapeutic care through our unique Doolann practice model, which combines evidence-based knowledge, practice wisdom, cultural understanding, and lived experiences.
This dynamic role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on children's lives and contribute to the Foundation's ground-breaking work in child safety and trauma recovery. Please note that the role includes an after-hours on-call component, shared among senior staff on a rotating basis.

About You/Key Selection Criteria:

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification such as Social Work or Psychology, or Occupational Therapy.
  • Significant leadership experience in the community services sector in areas such as child protection, out-of-home care, welfare, youth services, etc.
  • Extensive experience in program development, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team using contemporary leadership and management approaches.
  • Sound interpersonal skills, including demonstrated capacity to negotiate sensitive and complex issues with specific expertise in conflict resolution.
  • Sound understanding of trauma transformative practice.
  • A flexible collaborative approach, building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, fostering both independent and collaborative work within a team structure.
  • Current driver's licence and Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
