Join us as our Assistant Director/Financial Controller for our Financial Services team, where your expertise will help shape the future of a purpose-driven foundation that supports vulnerable children, families, and communities.

\Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Services, this is a pivotal senior leadership position responsible for the strategic direction, integrity, and performance of our finance and business services operations. You will lead financial planning and governance, oversee integrated financial and procurement operations, and deliver timely insights to support our Executive and Board's decision-making.

We're looking for a values-driven, CPA/CA qualified leader with experience navigating complex, highly regulated environments-ideally with a strong understanding of the not-for-profit or government-funded sectors. You'll bring a track record of managing large budgets, grants, and funding compliance, and lead with influence, collaboration, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of financial strategy aligned with organisational goals.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audit preparation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Build, develop, and support a high-performing finance team with strong internal controls and continuous improvement practices.
  • Provide clear and actionable insights to the Executive, Board, and key stakeholders to drive strategic decisions.
  • Manage grants, acquittals, and financial input into funding proposals.
  • Contribute to overall governance, policy development, and the broader leadership of the organisation.

In order for you to succeed, you will need (Key Selection Criteria):

  • CPA or CA qualification (mandatory), with tertiary qualifications in finance/accounting.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in a senior financial leadership role within complex organisations.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with experience managing both finance and business services teams.
  • High-level strategic and commercial acumen with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting standards, systems, and compliance requirements.
  • Personal alignment with the values of social justice, inclusion, and organisational purpose.
