The Australian Childhood Foundation are looking for an Assistant Accountant will be an integral part of the finance team. The position will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and the timely processing of various financial tasks. The key role of the Assistant Accountant is to support the Finance Manager in implementing the necessary day to day practices and routines to meet the financial management requirements of Australian Childhood Foundation nationally.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter, record, and reconcile financial data across multiple operational areas, supporting month-end processes and the implementation of new financial systems and procedures.
- Raise, code, and receipt invoices in line with policy; manage customer payments, follow up outstanding balances, and maintain GST-compliant records with a customer-first approach.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring project expenditures. Prepare accurate financial reports and funding acquittals in compliance with funding agreements and audit standards.
- Support contract register maintenance, ensure systematic record-keeping, and uphold financial governance aligned with accounting standards and internal policies-while contributing to a collaborative and positive team culture.
In order for you to succeed, you will need (Key Selection Criteria):
- Relevant experience or qualifications in business and/or finance, with strong proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Business Central 365 is desirable. CPA/CA qualification (or working toward it) is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible, responsive manner. Brings a positive, collaborative working style to dynamic environments.
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement, a learning culture, and handling confidential information with respect and professionalism. Aligned with the organisation's values.
- Proven capacity to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Possession of a current driver's licence and valid Working with Children Check (or equivalent) is essential.
- Will be able to provide 100 points of identification to undertake police check as well as provide a Working with Children's Check if successful
