Position Description
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the Economic and Fiscal Group
- Providing quality advice for effective decision making
- Preparing and maintaining economic and budget models, and the fiscal strategy
- Developing systems and transferring skills within the team to ensure sustainable operations
- Providing advice and guidance on cross-cutting issues.

Selection Criteria
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in economics or related discipline from a recognised university. Post graduate qualifications in a relevant field are highly desirable
- At least 10 years’ experience in a senior position or similar role in economic and fiscal analysis and public policy
- Experience with analysing, developing and maintaining economic models, and presenting practical solutions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and competency in MS Office (Word & Excel) in producing reports and drafting documents for publication
- Experience in leading and managing teams and ability to mentor junior staff
- Demonstrated ability to liaise, discuss and work effectively with Government officers, senior staff of the Ministry and external technical advisers.
Desirable experience and knowledge:
- Experience living and working in the Pacific region
- Experience in a developing country government Treasury or Finance department
