To be successful, you will need demonstrated advocacy skills, commitment to Indigenous justice, and court acumen. Your experience with both Duty Lawyer type responsibilities and Hearings will be a distinct advantage for the Criminal Law roles (2), as will provision of service in the youth jurisdiction. Practising Certificate (or ability to promptly acquire one) is needed. Our Mt Isa Family & Civil Law role has extensive variety and is much needed for the town & outer communities.

  • Duty Lawyer ability essential, hearings expertise required for Roma.
  • Youth jurisdiction capacity and ability to work with our Indigenous Court Support/Field Staff to aid with community connections is important.
  • Driver licence for Roma is a must
  • Mt Isa - there are two roles - one in Criminal Law and one in Family & Civil Laws.
  • Housing and a rental subsidy adds to an attractive "remote location" allowance could lift your salary package by $20,000 approx.
