ASHM Health is a leading not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting professionals in the field of HIV, blood-borne viruses (BBVs) and sexual and reproductive health (SRH). We deliver training, develop the resources and guidelines, run the conferences and advocate passionately for the needs of our members and communities. The Chief Finance & Operations Officer reports directly to the CEO and is a part of the Senior Management Team. The role is responsible for managing and overseeing the operations of Finance, Human Resources, Governance (including risk, compliance and internal policy development) and Office Administration. This role also takes on Company Secretarial duties and will be responsible for the execution of key elements within ASHM’s corporate governance framework.
This role has three direct reports, the Finance Manager, HR and Administration Manager and Governance Officer. With your previous experience in a senior management role, leading and engaging with professional finance and administration teams, you should be able to demonstrate proven ability to drive and implement continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
The role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written), with the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will utilise your verbal presentation skills and influencing skills, enjoying a hands-on and busy role and provide leadership to the Business Services support functions. The position will require the ability to prepare and present written reports to Committees and Boards.
A professional finance qualification and membership of a relevant professional body is preferred.
