The Organisation:

Arthritis NSW  is the peak community representative body for people living with arthritis in NSW. There are over 100 different types of arthritis and it can affect people of all ages. 

To support people living with arthritis, we provide a broad range of services, including:

  • Information based services (digital resources, webinars, Infoline)
  • Exercise based services (warm water programs, strength and balance programs and a dance program) and
  • Community support (support groups and specific events)

These services help the community better understand their condition and increase awareness and motivation to engage in evidence-based self-management strategies, and help them to connect with peers and members of the community who understand their experiences.

Our organisation is about helping everyday people to 'live better with arthritis'. We also contribute to research towards earlier diagnosis/treatment & cure and participate state-based advocacy for health system change to drive better outcomes for people living with arthritis.

The Role

Working within the health services team, the program administration officer (PAO) will be responsible for the day-to-day running of our exercise programs. We currently run three program - a warm water program (run face-to-face) and a strengthn and balance program and a dance program (online). 

The role allows the right candidate to utilise a range of skills (organisational, financial and customer service) and will be supported by the health services manager and the dynamic health services team.

The primary tasks for the programs administration officer include;

  • Program related inquiries from members of the public and current participants
  • Supporting prospective participants with registration processes and health screening requirements (online)
  • Liaison with program providers regarding program delivery elements (e.g. monitoring attendance at program, feedback on program delivery) and invoicing (payment of providers)
  • Identifying opportunities for quality improvement within the programs
  • Increase community impact by the identification of opportunities for program growth (e.g. new venues)
  • Maintain consumer/participant information with accuracy within our organisations CRM
  • Work collaboratively across the team and with broader external stakeholders (as required)
