Food Pantry Team Leader

Addison Road Community Organisation

Addison Road Community Organisation (ARCO) is a dynamic independent charity delivering a wide range of community development projects in the areas of social justice, arts & culture and the environment. Formed in 1976 in Marrickville on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, ARCO manages a 9-acre former army depot with 30-plus buildings, 165 trees, gardens and community facilities and provides rental spaces to other organisations.

We operate two Food Pantries and a Food Relief Hub, rescuing in excess of 200 tonnes of food per year from going into landfill. Our first pantry was established in Marrickville in 2015. We opened our second pantry in Camperdown in September 2020. The Addi Road Food Pantries and Food Relief Hub are largely run by volunteers, supported by ARCO staff.

Applicants should have:

  • Customer service skills in any retail setting.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Food Safety Supervisor’s Certificate (FSS) is essential or the willingness to undertake.
  • Some supervisory experience would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience or knowledge working with not-for-profits.
  • Demonstrated commitment to addressing food insecure communities.
  • A current Working With Children Check

You would be part of a small team where collaboration and flexibility are key. This is a unique opportunity to join an organisation making a difference in people’s lives and contributing to the community in creative and meaningful ways.
