Partnership Officer - Thriving Queensland Country Collaborative - Flexible Location

ARACY
  • Flexible Location in either Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Mackay, Gladstone, or Bundaberg

Our Organisation

The Thriving Queensland Kids Partnership (TQKP) is a coalition and intermediary, instigated and hosted by ARACY - the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth - with Queensland partners. TQKP’s purpose is to ‘catalyse systems to change the odds for Queensland children and young people to thrive’.

To achieve this, TQKP is:

  • bringing people, organisations and sectors together,
  • using what we know and learn,
  • supporting leaders and catalysts, and
  • facilitating collaborative action, innovation and development.

We believe that by doing this, we can build better connections, capabilities and capacities in the key areas of concerted leadership, smarter investment, enabled caregivers and communities, integrated delivery and putting data, evidence and experience to work.

This means an eco-system better equipped and stewarded, and working together well, to:

  • reduce the experience and consequences of inequity and adversity, and
  • improve opportunities, capabilities and outcomes,

so all kids have a great start and journey in life.

The Thriving Queensland Country Collaborative

The Thriving Queensland Country Collaborative is a joint initiative of James Cook University (JCU), Central Queensland University (CQU) and the Thriving Queensland Kids Partnership (TQKP), supported by The John Villers Trust and the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation.

The purpose of the initiative is to support leaders, organisations and practitioners delivering child, youth and family health, development and wellbeing services and initiatives in country Queensland to contribute to the systems work of TQKP, and to support their work at enabling children, young people and their families and communities in country Queensland to thrive.

This role will be a member of the TQKP team and outplaced to and supported by either JCU or CQU depending on location (Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Mackay, Gladstone, or Bundaberg).

  • A strong understanding of evidence-informed approaches that support better outcomes for children and young people
  • Ability to be a self-starter and a member of a team working in virtual and hybrid environments.

In addition, a commitment to living our ARACY Values is essential:

  • Connectedness – we build genuine partnerships and acknowledge that true collaboration involves giving something up for the greater good.
  • Equity – we are committed to helping build a society that understands and respects fairness and equity, and values children not only as future adult contributors but for their own place and voice in society.
  • Inclusion – we value the breadth and depth of all people and ideas regardless of ethnicity, religion, age, political affiliation, gender, sexuality or other characteristics.
  • Integrity – we are non-partisan. We advocate for and with children and young people. We present the evidence even when it challenges common understanding. We manage the resources available to us honestly and responsibly.
