APNIC

Who are we and what do we do?

As the Regional Internet Registry for the Asia Pacific, we work for the good of the Internet and the 4.5 billion people who use it across the region. We're a Not-For-Profit and are responsible for overseeing the distribution of IP addresses – and wider Internet addressing services - to governments, organisations and individuals. We also provide support to our membership of more than 8,000 across 56 economies.

The Opportunity

As a regional, community-led organisation it is critical that our webservices provide an excellent user experience. Your mission will be to understand the needs of our multicultural community accurately and deeply, and to create designs that provide excellent experiences. Our webservices include, but are not limited to, an academy and community platforms, registry services and tools and a blog. Our products play a critical role in allowing the Internet to operate and grow in an open, stable and secure manner.

The roles report to our CX Manager and on a typical day you’ll find yourself working within your product team:

  • Leading user research activities and testing
  • Producing prototypes
  • Leading the collection of analytics and providing advice to your team to help steer the direction of continuous improvement
  • Working collaboratively with your product manager, developers and subject matter experts, in the development of product features, functionality and user-centred designs

The opportunities are being offered on 12-month contracts due to the expansion of our product suite and to cover a maternity leave. Ideally the successful candidates will commence the roles in December 2021.

About You

To be successful in the role you’ll be an experienced UX all-rounder who’ll embrace the challenge of working in a technical organisation which covers the Asia Pacific

In detail, your background should also include:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in a UX/UI role
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • A star when it comes to using Figma, Google Analytics, Hotjar, and user research tools
  • Good knowledge of current trends, techniques and best practices
  • Experience conducting a range of user research activities
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with others
  • A critical eye for design and immense pride in your work

It would also be nice if your background included:

  • Experience working with a product led tech/IT/software company
