The Faculty of Pain Medicine, part of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification, and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand.
Formed in 1998, the Faculty of Pain Medicine was the world’s first multidisciplinary medical academy devoted to education and training in pain medicine. Our mission is to reduce the burden of pain in society through education, advocacy, training, and research.
In this dynamic and varied role, you’ll help raise the profile and influence of the faculty by crafting and coordinating meaningful communications, strengthening engagement with fellows, trainees, and external stakeholders, and supporting a range of strategic initiatives and events. From drafting news updates and social media posts to helping deliver high-profile advocacy campaigns and coordinating award programs, you’ll be central to telling the FPM story and celebrating the impact of our specialist pain medicine community.
Working closely with the Manager, Strategic Initiatives, you'll also provide support to key committees, particularly the Research Committee, lead the delivery of our newsletters, and help manage key touchpoints like the FPM LinkedIn page and website.
You’ll be part of a passionate, close-knit team that values initiative and collaboration. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to deepen their impact and grow in a role that offers both creative and strategic scope.
The role occasionally requires participation in meetings outside of standard business hours and during weekends. Additional hours during peak times may also be required, with time-in-lieu provisions available. Some travel may be required.
You’re a clear communicator who thrives on variety and purpose. You know how to craft engaging messages for different audiences and channels, and you’re comfortable juggling multiple priorities. You enjoy working with people, whether that’s supporting volunteer clinicians, collaborating with internal teams, or helping coordinate events and initiatives.
Experience working with volunteers and in a membership-based, healthcare or academic setting is a bonus, but not essential.
We offer employment benefits and a working environment that contributes to our people’s health, safety and wellbeing, personal and professional development, and supports an inclusive, equitable, and respectful college culture.
ANZCA is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We strongly encourage Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and Māori peoples to apply.
