About the opportunity:

As the Accreditation and Governance Officer, you will be a key member of the Governance and Compliance team (within the broader Education and Research function). You will be joining the team in an exciting growth phase and will be responsible for;

  • Supporting the development and management of the education governance framework.
  • Supporting regulatory, compliance and accreditation activities.
  • Coordinating quality management and continuous improvement activities.
  • Supporting committees, including the Committee Service Office Community of Practice, and ensuring educational initiatives align with compliance and quality standards.

This a permanent, full-time role reporting to the Governance and Compliance Manager (we are currently recruiting for this new leadership role). The business has identified the prominence of support in the areas of governance and compliance giving the incumbent the opportunity to own and influence the role.

The Development and Governance unit sits within ANZCA’s Education and Research department. Together, the team leads the strategic design and continuous improvement of training and professional development programs, including curricula and assessment frameworks, digital learning, policy and governance systems, and reporting and evaluation.

This team also supports ANZCA’s education governance committees and communities of practice—ensuring our programs are responsive, evidence-based, and aligned with global best practice and local health equity priorities.

Keys to your success:

You are an established governance professional with a passion for quality and compliance. You are comfortable in high-complexity environments and bring demonstrated experience leading in areas of uncertainty and minimal guidance.

You will ideally bring:

  • Prior experience in a governance and/or compliance role within healthcare (prior AMC/MCNZ accreditation knowledge would be highly desired).
  • Experience in supporting governance frameworks, policy development, and quality assurance Processes.
  • Ability to contribute to the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems (QMS), process development and coordinate quality assurance activities.
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail and high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of and commitment to embedding cultural safety, diversity, equity, and inclusion in education programs and governance processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, committees, and colleagues.
  • Experience in providing governance advice, guidance, and support to committees, senior leaders, and teams.

Desired

  • Experience in supporting initiatives related to First Nations health, cultural safety, and Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) activities is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a membership-based, healthcare, or education organisation.
