We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Housing Specialist to join our team. As part of the team, you’ll be supporting individuals to not only to find housing, however, support them to sustain their tenancies and maintain their accommodation while working towards longer term housing stability. Sometimes this means finding accommodation for them and their family as they progress through the QDAC program. Through practical case management you will provide a range of supports for men and women on treatment orders who have been referred to Anglicare through the Queensland Drug and Alcohol Court (QDAC).
As a team member of Anglicare’s QDAC program you will work to deliver effective solutions for people who may be in temporary accommodation, experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. Our team provides holistic wraparound support to rebuild their self-worth, encourage sustainable change in their lives, and develop community connectedness.
Due to internal movement, we are looking for 2 full-time permanent Case Managers/ Recovery Practitioner to support the program. Working 76 hours per fortnight, the role works between the Brisbane Magistrates Court and Anglicare at Toowong. The role will work in partnership with the broader Government QDAC team, including Queensland Health, Queensland Corrective Services and Legal Aid.
Salary is SCHDI Award for Level 5
With a background in using a strengths-based approach to support those with a history of drug or alcohol misuse, our ideal candidate will also offer:
Your qualifications will include a Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or a similar field, and/or equivalent practical experience in the public and community housing sector and the issues relating to drug and alcohol misuse; a current Blue Card (Working with Children); current COVID-19 Vaccination certificate and a Queensland Driver Licence.
