Exciting Leadership Opportunity:

Are you a dynamic leader driven by a passion for creating meaningful change? Anglican Overseas Aid (AOA) invites you to become our Head of Engagement, where you will lead our marketing, fundraising, church, and supporter engagement efforts. This vital role empowers you to lead our Engagement team in growing our supporter base, enhancing acquisition, and developing innovative products and strategic initiatives. It involves nurturing strong donor relationships and guiding our fundraising strategies for meaningful outcomes.

About Us:

AOA is an overseas relief and development agency associated with the Anglican Church of Australia. We strive for dignity, equality, and inclusion for those experiencing poverty and marginalisation, with a focus on gender and climate justice.

The Role:

As the Head of Engagement, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of engagement strategies.
  • Drive digital marketing and acquisition initiatives.
  • Develop and enhance engagement products and initiatives.
  • Lead and implement a major donor program, manage bequest and church partnerships, and oversee organisational fundraising efforts.
  • Inspire and develop the Engagement team, fostering a collaborative and agile working environment. This role requires a hands-on approach, working closely with the team to implement plans and achieve strategic goals.
  • Engage with partner churches and key supporters through strategic initiatives and events.

About You:

  • You are keen to play your part in tackling the pressures of poverty and climate impacts, and you are eager to nurture new generations of responsive and engaged global neighbours.
  • You recognise that Christian faith fuels engagement, shaping your innovation as you cultivate, test, and experiment with game-changing ideas.
  • You firmly believe that our values influence our actions, and you acknowledge the importance of nurturing and evolving these values to strengthen your team’s culture and enhance the brand.
  • As a pragmatic thinker, you understand that strategy isn't always a straightforward path; the fastest route to success must align with the journey of building community trust and collaboration.
  • As a leader, you can inspire from the front, offer support from the sidelines, elevate those around you, and provide guidance when needed. Your courageous thoughts and professional experience are complemented by your openness and generosity in sharing your feelings, fostering a safe space for dialogue.
  • You approach challenges with a systems-thinking mindset, focusing on solutions that build a collaborative ecosystem. You diligently work towards strategic outcomes by prioritising sustainable, clear plans with your team. You appreciate the value of teamwork and individual efforts, knowing they are essential to achieving our goals and nurturing a productive environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A dynamic leader with 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong digital marketing and fundraising experience.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.
  • A passion for AOA’s mission and values essential, with experience in Christian leadership contexts highly valued.

Why Join Us?

  • Make a meaningful impact through your work.
  • Be part of a supportive and values-driven team.
  • Enjoy flexible working arrangements.
