The ANMF Industrial Union of Workers Perth is seeking a Team Lead – Organising to provide operational leadership across our organising function. This is a unique opportunity to join a respected, values-led organisation and play a key role in strengthening the capability, confidence, and impact of our organising team.
This role is suited to someone who brings strong organising experience, sound judgment, and a genuine ability to coach and lead others in a high-accountability, purpose-driven environment.
About the role
The Team Lead – Organising is responsible for leading, coaching, and supporting Organisers and Organising Industrial Officers to deliver effective, member-led workplace organising.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines team coordination, capability development, campaign support, and day-to-day operational oversight. You will help ensure organising work is delivered consistently, professionally, and in line with broader union priorities.
Key responsibilities
You will:
- lead the day-to-day delivery of organising activity across assigned workplaces or sectors
- coach, support, and develop Organisers and Organising Industrial Officers
- coordinate workflow, priorities, team coverage, and leave planning
- hold regular performance conversations and contribute to a culture of accountability and growth
- support the delivery of campaigns, including planning, timelines, tactics, and workplace communications
- translate organising strategy into practical team and workplace action plans
- monitor activity and outcomes and provide reporting to the Manager
- identify risks, campaign opportunities, and resourcing issues and escalate where needed
- work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across organising, industrial, and engagement functions
About you
You will be an experienced organiser with the confidence to lead from the front and the maturity to build trust, accountability, and capability in others.
You will bring:
- demonstrated experience in organising, campaigning, or workplace mobilisation
- strong knowledge of organising principles and member-led workplace action
- proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff
- experience leading workflow, supporting performance, and coordinating team operations
- strong communication and relationship-building skills
- sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to manage competing priorities
- a current driver’s licence
Desirable:
- previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a union or member-based environment
- experience supporting the development of organising practice across a team
- knowledge of health, aged care, or public sector workplaces
