AMRRIC (Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities Ltd) is an established, national not-for-profit organisation based in Darwin. Our small team of dedicated staff deliver a diverse range of programs covering community and animal health and welfare, education and training, academic research, strategic planning and advocacy. We work with remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to improve the health of their pets, helping to create healthier, safer and happier communities.

We are seeking a highly organised and relationship focused person with a commitment to sharing AMRRIC’s culture and core values. The Program Manager – Operational Delivery is an existing role replacing a staff retirement. The role will lead, direct and manage the day-to-day operations of AMRRIC’s One Health Program delivery. You are committed to fostering a culturally safe environment, with a passion for working with remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their companion animals.

The Program Manager – Operational Delivery will be accountable to the General Manager, supported by skilled and experienced staff and stakeholders. Responsibilities will include:

  • Program management including on-ground delivery, budgets and reporting
  • Stakeholder relationship management
  • People leadership and supervision.

The successful applicant will have good communication skills and will be proactive in maintaining and building relationships. You will be highly organised and able to manage competing priorities. This is a full time, contract position based in Darwin, with remote and interstate travel required. You will have experience working at the cross-cultural divide, with demonstrated experience and understanding of the challenges of delivering and operating programs in remote locations. Experience in the veterinary or animal management sector is essential.
