Dolly’s Dream was set up in memory of Dolly Everett, aged 14, who took her own life after an extended period of bullying and cyberbullying. Dolly left behind her parents Tick and Kate and her sister Meg, who are now focused on using the funds that have been kindly donated by the community to help prevent other families from going through the same devastating experience.

The Foundation also supports Dolly’s Dream, educating and empowering families and communities to prevent the devastating effects of bullying.

About the role:

Reporting to the Dolly’s Dream Program Manager, the Dolly’s Dream School Engagement Coordinator is a member of the Dolly’s Dream team and will be responsible for visiting schools across Australia with a particular focus on remote and rural areas in Queensland and New South Wales. The role will involve working closely with young people, their families and school staff, introducing programs, providing support and promoting behavioural change around bullying.

  • 6-month contract

To make an impact in this role, you will:

  • Deliver face-to-face and virtual workshops to students, parents and teaching staff, introducing programs, providing support and promoting behavioural change around bullying.
  • Work with schools in building awareness of Dolly's Dream funded activities to assist with the prevention of bullying.
  • Be responsible for communication planning, while managing bookings and scheduling for all Dolly's Dream programs.
  • Contribute positively to the Foundation's culture through developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues.
  • Effectively execute other tasks as directed by the Dolly's Dream Program Manager, Head of Dolly's Dream and Executive team.

Knowledge, Experience and Requirements:

  • Experience in education or a school setting (essential).
  • A qualification in education (desirable).
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in executing projects or initiatives either in the non-profit, corporate, consulting, or public sectors (essential).
  • Previous experience in delivering social change projects; frameworks or initiatives in the education sector to a high level (essential).
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to conduct training, presentations and facilitate workshops with schools (essential).
  • Capability to be self-motivated, flexible, autonomous and escalate appropriately as required.
  • Capacity to work independently at an off-site location but maintain important Foundation relationships.
  • Hold a current drivers' licence, with willingness and ability to use own vehicle (appropriate reimbursement of expenses provided).
  • A Working with Children Check and police check.
