Location: Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. Hybrid working arrangements are supported.
Employment type: Fixed-term, two-year contract.
Salary: $101,608 - $110,000 (full-time equivalent, plus superannuation (12.5%).
Hours: Full-time, 38 hours per week (1.0 FTE)
The Communications Manager leads the planning and delivery of major cross-organisational projects that strengthen AMCS' impact, profile and organisational effectiveness.
Reporting to the Communications Director, this role provides end-to-end project leadership across major communications and organisational initiatives, working collaboratively across campaigns, communications, fundraising and operations to coordinate and deliver strategic priorities. Leading projects spanning public engagement, communications, storytelling, research and other strategic initiatives, the Communications Manager ensures projects are strategically aligned, well planned, effectively governed and delivered on time and within budget.
Working closely with internal teams and external partners, including agencies, filmmakers, researchers, consultants and strategic partners, the Communications Manager translates ambitious ideas into successful outcomes that advance AMCS' mission and strategic priorities. This position requires excellent project leadership, strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality outcomes that strengthen AMCS' impact and organisational effectiveness.
Project Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading complex communications projects involving multiple stakeholders, ensuring projects are strategically aligned, effectively governed and delivered on time and within budget.
Project Management: Strong project planning, coordination and implementation skills, including experience managing budgets, timelines and project delivery.
Communication and Collaboration: Outstanding communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management: Experience managing external suppliers, consultants, agencies or contractors to deliver successful project outcomes.
Organisation and Problem Solving: Excellent organisational skills, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines.
Qualifications: Qualifications or training in project management, communications or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
