Amaze is the peak body for autistic people and their supporters in Victoria and provides a national helpline service (Autism Connect). Amaze builds autism understanding in the community, influences policy change for autistic people and their families/supporters, and provides independent, credible information and resources to individuals, families, professionals, government and the wider community.

Autism Connect is Australia’s first national autism helpline. It provides information, advice and referrals to help autistic people, their supports, and professionals. The helpline is free, evidence-based and independent. Autism Connect is now available and easily accessible across Australia.
As apart of the Autism Connect team, the Advisor, Autism Connect role reports to the Team Lead and Manager of Operations & Quality. The role is responsible for providing independent and evidence-based information, referrals, and support to autistic people, their families and supporters and wider Australian community.
Working within the Autism Connect team along with fellow Advisors, the Team Lead and Manager of Operations & Quality will support and offer guidance as desired. Through this role you will see your autonomy grow over time and will be empowered to offer comfort and support to those engaging with Autism Connect.
The role performs multiple tasks across administration, the Autism Connect helpline, and the Amaze Knowledge Centre. Some key deliverables for the role include, providing autism specific information, emotional support and referrals to the Australian autism community in response to their enquiries, and contribute to the development of high quality, evidence-based autism resources in line with autism community needs and organisational priorities for Autism Connect wholly.
You will ideally have experience in desk-bound work for long periods at a time, collaborative work with others, and responding to clientele in difficult and/or uncomfortable circumstances in a safe and respectful manner.
