Remote / Work from Home
The Senior Policy Officer is responsible for the development of policy and the provision of expert policy, legislative and management advice for water resource management issues in SA, with a focus on the Murray Darling Basin Plan and Murray-Darling Basin Agreement. The role manages policy projects and works closely with state and interstate government agencies, Landscape SA Boards and other key stakeholders in the development and delivery of water management policy, plans and projects.
You'll be collaborating with a dedicated team and working with external organisations, various industry and community interest groups, and a wide range of stakeholders.
Your success will lean heavily on your sound knowledge and experience in developing and evaluating policy options, including the ability to quickly grasp the complex nature of water management. We will value your proven experience in building and managing strong relationships, your collaborative style, and capacity to influence those around you.
It's a role that offers challenge and reward in equal measure, the opportunity to make important policy contributions to water management, and the chance to develop and foster strong relationships.
You'll likely bring tertiary qualifications in the natural sciences, law or public policy. You’ll relish the challenge of not only analysing and managing complex, technical information but also interpreting and communicating complex information in a digestible and accessible way. And you will love developing policy and policy advice in a sensitive and critical environment.
We expect too, that you will be very happy to collaborate, share and provide support to a broad range of stakeholders.
