Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services, which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

The single most important goal of Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.

Southcity Clinic

Southcity Clinic is a service of Alfred Mental & Addiction Health. Southcity Clinic provides a range of addiction interventions including harm reduction, counselling and evidence based medical interventions for addiction. The Southcity Clinic multi-disciplinary team is comprised of Addiction Medicine Specialists and Addiction Psychiatrists, Psychiatry Registrars, a Dual Diagnosis Nurse Practitioner and allied health practitioners including nurses, social workers and AOD clinicians.

What you'll be doing

The Southcity Clinic Transitions Nurse will be providing a range of health interventions while building on skills and competencies relevant to mental health and addiction nursing. You'll work alongside the Southcity Clinic multi-disciplinary team and receive supervision from our Dual Diagnosis Nurse Practitioner while working towards a range of mental health nursing competencies.

About you

You will have:

  • Unrestricted Nursing registration with AHPRA
  • Prior experience in AOD/addictions nursing
  • Certificate IV AOD or equivalent AOD qualification would be highly regarded
  • Australian working rights (Visa holders, please upload your visa and passport with your application)
  • Full Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination (certificates to be uploaded with your application)
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check
