  • Part time role (3 days/wk) until June 2025
  • Based in Elsternwick, with travel required to Syndal

About us

Established in 2006, headspace offers a 'one stop shop' for young people aged 12 -25 and their families who may be experiencing mental health difficulties. It provides an opportunity for young people to receive help early and promotes a 'no wrong door' approach to supporting young people and their families through the provision of GPs, counsellors, Alcohol & other Drug workers and Vocational and Educational support.

What you'll be doing

As our Community Awareness Co-ordinator, you will lead a team of two Community Awareness Officers located at headspace Elsternwick and headspace Syndal.

You will also work closely with the Centre Manager to coordinate and engage Consortia members and regularly liaise with the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Officer on internal and external communications, website and social media management.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health Promotion, Public Health, Community Development, Social/Behavioural Science, Social Work/Planning or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience working with young people with mental health, alcohol and other drug, and other social issues
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and facilitating youth programs, events and activities within a community setting
  • Strong experience and expertise with social media as a communication tool
  • Australian working rights and a current Victorian Driver's License
  • Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain one and be willing to undergo a Background Check
