Creative Digital Marketing & PR Manager

Seaside Scavenge

Seaside Scavenge is a small team of passionate people delivering innovative litter and waste recovery programs to communities across Australia and the globe. Our vision is a world where there is no waste.

We’re looking for the perfect person to help us shout this from the rooftops using a creative, consistent and clever marketing approach.

Let’s call this perfect person, Charlie.

What does Charlie do?

Charlie is responsible for developing and implementing a brand strategy that supports our vision. This includes identifying new avenues to elevate brand awareness.

Charlie manages all aspects of Seaside Scavenge’s social media channels including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp and LinkedIn. Charlie also regularly updates the Seaside Scavenge website with fresh and relevant content through Squarespace.

Charlie is the genius behind all the Seaside Scavenge event promotion and reach, aka our public relations guru. Charlie generates a steady stream of traditional media awareness to the Scavenge programs by building relationships with journalists and influencers. Charlie strengthens relations with participants using EDM’s or other creative means and manages each events’ online channels of communication to get our event attendance higher every time.

Charlie also works closely with the CEO to support the daily operations of Seaside Scavenge – this means Charlie’s hands occasionally get dirty. Being a small organisation daily tasks are diverse; Charlie is stoked to jump from monitoring the Seaside Scavenge email, to shadowing the CEO in a Corporate Waste Wise Workshop to, on the odd occasion, getting elbow deep in sorting through a big pile of ocean trash.

Don’t fret, every day isn’t like this but Charlie has grown to thrive in this environment. It does mean Charlie has extremely strong project management and time management skills. These are Charlies’ best qualities.
