AHL is looking for experienced candidates who are highly motivated, energetic, and passionate about supporting Indigenous Australians and providing excellent customer service.

We operate all over Australia. We are accepting applications for our hostels in Kalgoorlie, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Katherine, Darwin, Cairns and Sydney.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare meals using AHL’s set menus, meeting Australian Food Safety Standards and other relevant legislation
• Rotate, receive and monitor food and kitchen supplies
• Make sure the kitchen and dining room is cleaned to standard

Physical requirements

Candidates need to be in good health, and will need to walk, lift and carry. Employees work a flexible schedule, and must be able to move continuously. Shift work may apply.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in meal preparation. Ability to cook quality food to Australian Food Safety Standards
• Experience in commercial cooking and the ability to manage stock
• Good understanding of cleanliness and health standards

Qualifications (Desirable)

• Certificate in Food Safety Handling
• Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
• Certificate II in Hospitality
• Other relevant qualification or experience
