About the opportunity

With this particular opportunity we are looking for Permanent and Part-time candidate that have experience with complex behaviours.

With our ongoing expansion we are looking for experienced Disability Support Workers who want to be part of an innovative, passionate not for profit organisation whose primary focus is to support people with disabilities to lead exceptional, joy filled lives.

Duties and Responsibilities

When you work for us you can expect to:

  • Get either Permanent full-time and Part-time work around a variety of shift times.
  • Provide high quality daily client support to clients who have varying needs with a variety of disabilities, which includes personal care, manual handling and light domestic duties.
  • Use your administration skills to document client records daily.
  • Comply with NDIS requirements and follow individual service and healthcare plans.
  • Communicate effectively with your clients their carers and families.
  • Effectively contribute to site and asset maintenance.
  • Ensure all Afford policies and procedures including WH&S are adhered to.
  • Other duties as directed by the Team Leader.
  • Work as part of a dedicated and fun team.

About the candidate

We are looking for support workers who are as focused on supporting people with disabilities to lead exceptional, joy filled lives as much as we are! You will also need the following:

  • Minimum qualification: Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services
  • Experience working with people with varying degrees of disability and behaviours
  • Able to address triggers and redirect 
  • A current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain one)
  • NDIS workers screening check (or willing to obtain one)
  • Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain one)
  • Current Australian driver’s licence (In the State you are applying)
  • Up to date COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster shot if eligible, evidence of vaccination status will be required as part of the recruitment process
