ARC Justice is an independent, for-purpose, human rights organisation that incorporates the Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre, the Goulburn Valley Community Legal Centre and Housing Justice. We have offices in Bendigo and Shepparton and work with people in regional and rural Victoria who experience disadvantage relating to their housing, family, relationship, consumer, economic, social and civil rights.

About the role:

We’re looking for someone to play a significant role in our legal team dedicated to supporting those affected by family violence. In this role, you’ll have the chance to identify and pursue important law reform and process change to achieve ARC Justice’s bold strategic direction. In addition to casework in one or more of our 10 regional courts, you’ll also be deeply involved in working with partners to help family violence survivors avoid the court process altogether. What you will bring:

• Experience providing legal advice, casework, and representation, in one or more areas of law relevant to disadvantaged communities, particularly the key practice area of family violence
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage with people who have complex vulnerabilities including trauma
• A commitment to access to justice and equity principles
• Experience networking and building relationships with a broad range of organisations and stakeholders
