We are seeking an experienced and innovative manager to lead a small administrative team in managing and supporting students, partners, and Unit Convenors in the operational implementation and maintenance of the PACE initiative. The position is located in the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE). As the Faculty PACE Manager, you will be developing and maintaining strong reciprocal relationships within the Faculty, across the University and beyond to the wider community of partners. As an experienced manager you will lead a small team working at the front line with students, partner organisations, Unit Convenors, and other Macquarie staff to manage all aspects of the operational implementation and maintenance of the PACE initiative in the Faculty whilst reporting to the Faculty Academic Director of PACE. You will also have demonstrated experience in project and/or program management including exposure to the tertiary education section and preferably to student placements or internships. In previous positions you will have gained experience in engaging with internal and external partners and in developing and implementing strategic and operational plans.
Professional and Community Engagement (PACE) is a University-wide initiative designed to provide undergraduate students with experiential learning opportunities with a range of local, regional and international partners. PACE units provide an academic framework through which students can engage with the community, learn through participation, develop their capabilities and build the skills valued by employers. A key objective of the University’s Learning and Teaching Strategic Framework (2015) is to expand experiential learning programs to further enhance the employability of Macquarie graduates. One of the key strategies to achieve this objective is the development and expansion of internship opportunities including Co-operative Education (Co-op) across undergraduate programs.
