ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking a part time Psychologist to join our caring, compassionate and friendly Specialist Disability Support in Schools service (SDSS) team based in Wooloowin until 31 December 2024.
As part of the Specialist Disability Support in Schools (SDSS) program, you will provide a mobile service to schools to enhance educational outcomes for children and young people impacted by trauma through:
- Providing specialised developmental and trauma-informed consultancy to education staff
- Providing high quality, trauma-informed therapeutic services to children, in both individual and group settings, to enhance functional skills.
- Facilitating and strengthening supportive relationships between children and the key adults in their educational setting.
- Working in partnership with Act for Kids team members, education and health professionals and additional stakeholders to enhance student outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain partnerships with schools you are based within, the community and government agencies
- Maintain a client/case management load in consultation with the Program Coordinator
- Provide quality timely reports and assessments as required and/or requested
- Adhere to case management processes including accurate and timely data entry, up to date case notes, pre and post-assessment and outcome measures
- Regularly attend and participate in case reviews and other case discussions as required.
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (psychology).
- Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.
- Minimum two years’ experience working with children, young people and their families
- Experience providing individual and group therapy to children, young people and their families.
- Understanding of the impacts of trauma on child and family functioning.
- Knowledge of current trauma treatment trends and child protection legislation and policy reforms.
- A high level of cultural awareness and experience working with families from different backgrounds, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

ABOUT THE PAY
- Position is classified Level 6.1 - 6.3 under the SCHCADS award;
- Salary range is $96,970 - $101,251 plus superannuation (pro-rata for part-time);
- In addition, as a registered Not for Profit/Charity, we offer excellent salary packaging options through RemServ which can significantly increase your take home pay.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Eligibility for a positive Working with Children Check and relevant positive NDIS Worker Screening Check in the applicable state of employment in Australia or exemption based on professional qualifications and registration.
- Current driver’s licence.
