It’s our goal to reduce re-offending and our mission is to help people transition from prison, assist them in the community, stop them from re-offending, and intervene to divert others from committing crime.

The program and the role

The NDIS Project Officer; Implementation & Innovation is a new position to assist us in implementing and establishing the highest level of service delivery within the Forensic Residential sector and to seek new and exciting opportunities for ACSOs strategic growth. This 12 month project position is integral for establishing expertise in the NDIS space and design the resources required. Part of this role will be ensuring our policies and procedures are aligned with NDIS but most importantly, you will be required to keep us informed and trained on all things NDIS. Success as a NDIS Project Officer; Implementation & Innovation requires you to have strong leadership qualities and a sound understanding of the challenges faced by people with cognitive impairments and a history of being involved with the criminal justice system. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Forensic Disability Services, you will be responsible for working alongside the Program Managers to ensure our clients receive the highest level of potential from their funding.

Who we are looking for

We are most focused on finding someone with the right attitude who is flexible and a team player. You will also:

  • Have innovative and creative ideas for business growth within the forensic disability sector
  • A minimum bachelor level qualification in Community Services, Mental Health or a similar field
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • A positive and contemporary attitude to people with disability and an understanding on the impact it can have on individuals
  • Knowledge of the challenges faced by those leaving the prison system, and an interest and willingness to work with those presenting with high risk offence histories
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • $76K full time base salary + superannuation + Great NFP salary packaging (which means more $ in your pocket! $89k approx package)
