About the role

The Forensic Practitioner will be responsible for providing therapeutic interventions for clients recently released from immigration detention.

The Forensic Practitioner will be expected to hold a case load of people recently released from immigration detention to support them via offence-related interventions. The role includes conducting generalised assessment of people's needs, goal and treatment planning and intervention, risk and safety assessment and stakeholder engagement. Interventions with people the role supports can range from medium to long term.

What we're looking for

• 2+ years prior experience conducting therapeutic interventions.
• Ability to work with challenging presentations and complex issues, preferably in the forensic or mental health fields.
• Demonstrated experience providing therapeutic interventions, including counselling, to support client behaviour change.
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to provide sound clinical
• Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team under the direction of a
• Effectively manage caseloads, manage time and competing
• Willingness and ability to 

Desirable

• Experience working in the Alcohol and other Drug (AOD) sector
• Experience working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities (CALD)

• Experience working with clients in contact with or at risk of contact with the criminal justice system.
