The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) the national, professional body representing, educating and connecting Australia's vibrant community of nurses, is seeking an outstanding student and industry-oriented experienced academic leader for the newly created role of Director of Academic Studies to champion academic quality and innovation.

The position reports to the Executive Director Education and has responsibility for the higher education academic quality and standards activities within ACN , ensuring our academic quality and standards continue to deliver excellent educational outcomes for nurses and healthcare workers across Australia.

The successful candidate must have a willingness to go beyond the call of duty and ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines under high pressure and to manage several projects simultaneously.

With key responsibilities for assuring quality program design, instruction and impact, the position will strengthen ACN's programs, enhancing ACN's reputation and commercial focus by embedding a culture of innovation and quality performance. The position will foster the development and maintenance of a scholarly culture and environment.

Your advanced knowledge of learning principles, practices and methodologies and exceptional people development skills will be underpinned with a thorough understanding of higher education and the ability to apply these to the nursing profession and the needs of employers across the Australian healthcare sector. ACN currently provides 19 specialist and niche Graduate Certificates .

Appointees will preferably have a PhD or equivalent, minimum of ten years of experience in higher education, an outstanding record of teaching, a record of scholarly engagement in a relevant discipline and experience working collaboratively with partner organisations, industry and community groups.

ACN aims to attract the best possible person in the market to this position and will remunerate accordingly. A competitive remuneration package commensurate with the quality of experience, employment record and qualifications, will be negotiated with the successful candidate and relocation assistance is available.
