Purpose of the role

We are recruiting a Procurement Specialist role to join our Finance and Corporate Services team. This is a stand-alone position tasked with establishing a Procurement function. Achieve Australia is an organisation with diverse assets.

Achieve has been providing services to people with disability since the 1950s. Today, we are a registered NDIS provider offering integrated clinical, health, social and disability services in accommodation, community participation, supported employment and support coordination services in the Greater Sydney and in Northern Rivers regions in NSW.

About the role

The Procurement Specialist provides procurement expertise and assists stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives. This will involve negotiating new supply agreements and managing existing supply agreements across the Achieve business.

Responsibilities

  • Vendor relationship management to ensure that contracted SLA’s are met.
  • Contract management so that entering, renewing, extending and terminating contracts comply with legal requirements and are planned to maximise negotiation leverage Use.
  • Assist in the development of Procurement policy that are sustainable, ESG compliant and comply with responsible sourcing requirements.
  • Develop a procurement process that is economic, rigorous, efficient, and controlled to minimise fraud and conflict of interest.
  • Develop and implement a vendor selection process that ensures the best outcome for Achieve.
  • Vendor verification to ensure all licenses, insurance, clearances and policy compliances are in place.
  • Ad hoc and project responsibilities as required.

About you

  • Relevant experience within the procurement field.
  • Specialist knowledge of procurement concepts, processes activities and trends Strong relationship and negotiation skills.
  • Advanced analytical interpretation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, coupled with people and project management skills.
  • Proactive, autonomous and capable of self-starting tasks/projects with the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understands confidentiality and works with integrity.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office program suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access Demonstrated capacity to learn how to use other computer software.
  • Preferred qualifications and membership with Procurement Associations and Professional Associations.
