Grief Australia is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to better preparing Australians for grief and serving as a guiding voice through it. Our mission is to support grieving Australians through advocacy, evidence-informed practice and education.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role ensures our Field Education & Volunteers Programs develop and sustain a well-supported workforce of emerging practitioners and volunteers, through high standard recruitment, induction, supervision and development.

You will also be responsible for clinical supervision of counsellors within the broader team and will be required to coordinate university placement partnerships with oversight of the Support Group Volunteer program.

You will ensure that every person in these pathways have the support, structure and skills to contribute meaningfully and safely to our mission.

This role is based in Melbourne, with the ability to work from home on some days as part of Grief Australia's hybrid workforce model.

ABOUT YOU

You will have tertiary qualifications in counselling, social work or psychology or a related discipline along with relevant current professional registration. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision with formal training or accreditation.

High level verbal and written communications skills that will enable you to coordinate and support those who you are supervising or supporting, and in turn with your liaisons with universities regarding placements and associated agreements.

An understanding of grief and bereavement literature and evidence informed treatment.
