When it comes to our environment, the Australian Conservation Foundation has been leading the way in protecting our living world for over half a century.
We are the national environment organisation committed to caring for Australia’s unique and beautiful wildlife and natural world. We’re inclusive, non-partisan and funded by the Australian community.
Whether it’s advocating for the Great Barrier Reef, koalas snoozing in big old trees or for strong climate action, our dedicated community of more than half a million people are constantly working to create a world where forests, rivers, people, and wildlife thrive.
A leadership role based in the Engagement Directorate, the Media Manager leads the creation, management and evaluation of ACF’s media relations, social media and multimedia content.
In this role, you’ll develop and oversee effective news and organic social media plans to achieve ACF’s vision and change strategy. You’ll work collaboratively across the organisation to increase ACF’s media presence and create innovative communication tactics to connect audiences in new ways.
The Media Manager is a key contributor to shaping the public narrative on significant environmental issues and works collaboratively with key staff to identify opportunities to tell a positive story of hope and change, but which also holds decision makers to account.
We are seeking an experienced media professional with a highly developed news sense and extensive experience in securing media coverage across traditional news outlets at a national, state and local level.
You will be skilled at creating impactful media opportunities and have proven success in developing and implementing strategies across channels that reach target audiences and improve the impact of ACF’s advocacy.
You will know how to get the best out of a high performing team, particularly one with specialists in traditional and social media and multimedia content and be skilled in developing strategic relationships with media representatives, external communications agencies and other stakeholders.
You also have experience providing media and communications advice at a high level to Board members and CEOs across a broad range of policy and operational issues.
You’ll do important work with one of Australia’s most impactful organisations, and with our world-class organisational culture and great team, we guarantee you’ll have fun along the way.
ACF is proud to offer our staff a supportive workplace with excellent conditions, including:
People are at the heart of everything we do to protect our planet. To achieve the bold change we seek, we must represent the richness of diversity within our communities so that all of us who care about nature can step up and lead.
ACF is committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants. We actively encourage First Nations people, people from CALD backgrounds, LGBTIQA+ people, people with disability and others who have diverse experiences of our world to apply for this opportunity.
