Attwood child care centre and kindergarten is a highly sought not for profit organisation surrounded by our beautiful quiet natural surroundings. We are excited to have an opportunity for an Educational Leader to join our friendly team.

The Educational leader will be an all-rounder, someone who has both educational leadership and exceptional administrative management experience with a strong focus on being hands on with the team in a mentoring capacity.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Have experience as a Senior educator / Second in Charge or Assistant Director
  • Experience in an Educational Leader role – 2 years preferred
  • Leading the development and implementation of the educational program and guide the educators in their planning and reflections
  • Mentoring colleagues in their implementation practices like never before.
  • Support the Centre Director in the day to day running of the service including regulatory compliance (Education and Care National Regulations and Act), adherence to the seven National Quality Standards and Victorian Early Years Learning Framework (VEYLF)
  • Ensuring the centres policies and Quality Improvement plan are well maintained
  • Additional Administration and organisation tasks in the office
  • Demonstrated ability of a sound working knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the National Law and National Quality Framework
  • Knowledge and ability to plan, implement and work within a child centred play-based program
  • Maintaining a theoretically sound curriculum that provides a program for each child that enhances their learning
  • Forming positive, collaborative working relationships with all families and colleagues

Selection criteria

  • Hold a Diploma in Children’s Services
  • Sound knowledge of the Early Year's Learning Framework and National Quality Standards
  • An ability to create positive relationships with team members, children and families
  • Ability to approach tasks in a professional and proactive manner, using initiative and flexibility.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for continuous improvement and professional development
  • Willingness to learn and inspire others to continue on their learning journey
  • Experience in leading and contributing to the cycle of observation and planning
  • Knowledge of providing safe, sustainable and inclusive environments for children
  • Hold a Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training
  • Completed current Child Protection Training
